Romania's nuclear power revenues soar, while hydroelectric profits plummet; renewables investment grows.

In the first half of 2025, Romania's state-owned nuclear power producer, Nuclearelectrica, saw a 30% increase in revenues and a 3% rise in net profit. However, Hidroelectrica, the largest energy producer, reported a 41% drop in profit due to poor hydrological conditions. Romania is also attracting significant investments in renewable energy, with projects like a 96 MW wind farm in Galati County and a 60 MWp solar park, indicating a growing commitment to clean energy.
