India's Election Commission says it's not legally bound to disclose reasons for voter exclusions.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) told the Supreme Court it isn't required by law to publish a list of omitted voters or the reasons for their exclusion, such as death or migration. This response came after the Association for Democratic Reforms requested such information. The ECI also shared details of individuals not included in the Bihar draft electoral roll with political parties to ensure all eligible voters are included. Additionally, the ECI issued a notice to Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha over allegations of possessing two voter identity cards. The ECI emphasizes that any eligible voter not on the list can file a form to be included.
