Two Indian students died after facing online blackmail, sparking calls for stricter laws.

A 19-year-old college student from Odisha's Kendrapara district died after self-immolating, allegedly due to blackmail by her ex-boyfriend, Pramod Behera, who threatened to release intimate photos. Behera was arrested for abetment to suicide and sexual harassment. The victim's father had previously complained to the police, but the case was ignored. In a similar incident, a nursing student from Raighar died after her photos were circulated online, leading to calls for stricter laws against such violence.
