US, Armenia, and Azerbaijan sign peace deal at White House, launching the "Trump Route" for regional transit.
On August 7, 2025, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will meet with President Donald Trump at the White House to sign a US-brokered peace deal, aiming to end decades of conflict.
The agreement includes the development of a transit corridor named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, which will link Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan region, potentially including a rail line, oil and gas lines, and fiber optic lines.
Private corporations will handle the construction, not the US.
The deal also aims to reopen key transportation corridors closed since the 1990s and pursue economic opportunities in the South Caucasus region.
