The Perseids meteor shower, one of summer's best, will peak soon, but a bright moon will reduce visibility to about 10 to 20 meteors per hour. Experts suggest viewing a week later for better conditions. The shower lasts until August 23. Today also marks National Pickleball Day and other special days, including International Cat Day.
