Indian ministry approves controversial film 'Udaipur Files' despite calls for censorship.
The Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has approved the release of the film 'Udaipur Files', which is based on the murder of a tailor in Rajasthan, after the Central Board of Film Certification required 55 cuts.
The ministry rejected petitions from groups who argued the film could unfairly influence public opinion against Muslims, claiming procedural rules were followed correctly.
The movie is set to be released on August 8.
