Over 1,500 Singapore drivers fined over US$100,000 for lacking Malaysia's new vehicle entry permit.
Nearly 1,500 Singapore drivers have been fined over US$100,000 since Malaysia fully enforced its Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) scheme on July 1.
The VEP scheme requires foreign vehicles, including those from Singapore, to pay a RM300 (US$70) fee and obtain a permit to enter.
Malaysian authorities have checked nearly 14,400 Singapore vehicles, with around 90% having the required VEP tags.
