flag China approves 32 research groups to study 30 grams of moon samples, advancing lunar science.

China's space agency has approved the ninth batch of applications for research on lunar samples collected by the Chang'e-5 and Chang'e-6 missions. Thirty-two research groups from 25 institutions will borrow 30,881.8 milligrams of lunar samples. Since July 2021, China has lent eight batches of lunar samples to various institutions. The Chang'e-6 mission collected samples from the moon's far side for the first time, while the Chang'e-5 mission retrieved about 1,731 grams of samples. Recent research findings include details on the moon's volcanic activity, magnetic field, water content, and geochemical characteristics.
