A low-pressure area off the Carolinas has a 30% chance of becoming Tropical Storm Dexter this week.

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a low-pressure area off the Carolinas with a 30% chance of developing into a tropical storm within the next week. The system is expected to move east-northeastward, away from the coast. This comes amid the peak hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. So far, the season has seen three named tropical storms. If another storm forms, it will be named Dexter.
