Katie Ledecky wins seventh world title in 800m freestyle, sets new world-championship record.

Katie Ledecky, 28, secured her seventh world title in the 800-meter freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore, setting a new world-championship record of 8:05.62. The race was closely contested with Canada's Summer McIntosh and Australia's Lani Pallister. Ledecky, who also won the 1,500m freestyle earlier, has four Olympic golds in the 800m and is expected to compete in the 2028 Olympics.
