Tamil Nadu court bans naming welfare schemes after living people, restricting CM Stalin's scheme promotion.
The Madras High Court has issued an interim order prohibiting Tamil Nadu's government from naming welfare schemes after living individuals or using their images, former CM portraits, or party symbols in promotional materials.
This follows a petition by AIADMK MP C. Ve Shanmugam against the use of Chief Minister MK Stalin's name in a public grievance scheme.
The court's order does not affect the launch or operation of welfare schemes but restricts their naming and advertising until further notice.
