Punjab, India, launches new anti-drug curriculum for 800,000 students, set to debut August 1.
Punjab, India, has launched the first evidence-based anti-drug curriculum for students in Classes 9 to 12, aiming to educate around 800,000 students across 3,658 schools.
Developed with Nobel Laureate Prof. Abhijit Banerjee's J-PAL South Asia and behavioral scientists, the 27-week program includes interactive sessions to prevent drug use.
Trials in 78 schools showed significant improvements in students' understanding of drug risks.
The program will be introduced by leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann on August 1.
