The Seattle Mariners have acquired left-handed reliever Caleb Ferguson from the Pittsburgh Pirates to strengthen their bullpen, sending minor league right-hander Jeter Martinez, a top-30 prospect, in return. Ferguson, 29, has a 3.74 ERA this season. The Mariners also recalled first baseman Tyler Locklear from Triple-A Tacoma, where he was batting .316 with 19 home runs and 82 RBIs. Outfielder Luke Raley was placed on the 10-day injured list due to back spasms.
