Pakistani lawmaker disqualified after 10-year prison sentence for rioting post-Khan arrest.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has disqualified Abdul Latif Chitrali, a Member of the National Assembly from Chitral, after he was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the May 9 riots.
His disqualification follows similar actions against three other PTI lawmakers, all convicted by anti-terrorism courts for their involvement in the unrest that followed Imran Khan's arrest.
According to Article 63(1)(h) of the Constitution, any lawmaker sentenced to over two years in prison is ineligible to hold office.
