Toyota Hilux pickups saw a 549% increase in thefts in 2024, making them the most targeted vehicle in the UK, alongside Lexus models which overtook Range Rovers as the top brand for car thefts. Toyota has invested in anti-theft measures like trackers, resulting in a 96% recovery rate in a recent trial. Overall, 61,000 cars were stolen last year, with Ford Fiestas remaining the most stolen by volume. Owners are advised to enhance security measures.
