Tampa Bay Rays trade Danny Jansen to Brewers, acquire catcher Nick Fortes from Marlins.

The Tampa Bay Rays have traded catcher Danny Jansen to the Milwaukee Brewers for infield prospect Jadher Areinamo and acquired another catcher, Nick Fortes, from the Miami Marlins, giving up minor-league outfielder Matthew Etzel. Jansen, 30, was in his first season with the Rays after playing for the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox. Fortes, 28, under club control until 2028, has played five seasons with the Marlins. The moves are part of the Rays' strategy to get younger at the catcher position.
