India now supplies 44% of U.S. smartphones, surpassing China due to Apple's production shift.

India has become the largest supplier of smartphones to the U.S., accounting for 44% of smartphone shipments in Q2 2025, up from 13% a year ago. This shift is largely due to Apple's decision to move production from China to India amid trade tensions. China's share of U.S. smartphone shipments dropped from 61% to 25% in the same period. Other brands like Samsung and Motorola have also increased exports from India, though not as significantly as Apple.
