Governments invest over $77 million to extend high-speed internet to rural and Indigenous communities in BC.
The Canadian and British Columbia governments are providing over $77 million to extend high-speed internet to more than 6,900 homes in rural, remote, and Indigenous communities in BC.
This funding supports 15 projects under the Universal Broadband Fund and aims to connect 98% of Canadian households by 2026 and 100% by 2030.
The federal government is also investing an additional $7 million for high-speed internet in Hullcar, Spallumcheen, and the Splatsin First Nation.
