Former South Carolina deputy arrested for stealing from sex offender registry fees.

A former deputy in Richland County, South Carolina, Jessica Way, was arrested for petit larceny after an internal audit found a $410 discrepancy in sex offender registry receipts. Way, who worked in the sex offender registry unit for nearly four years, admitted to stealing small amounts of money from sex offenders. She was terminated and arrested shortly after the investigation revealed her actions.
