Canada cuts Confederation Bridge tolls and ferry fares to boost traffic, lower costs amid US trade war.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a reduction in tolls on the Confederation Bridge, connecting Prince Edward Island to the mainland, from $50.25 to $20, effective August 1.
Ferry fares for passengers, vehicles, and commercial traffic in Eastern Canada will also be halved.
These changes, aimed at lowering trade barriers amidst the US trade war, are expected to cost the government about $100 million annually but are predicted to boost traffic and lower living costs.
