The abbot of China's renowned Shaolin Temple, Shi Yongxin, is under investigation for alleged embezzlement and misappropriation of temple funds and assets. He is also accused of violating Buddhist precepts by maintaining long-term inappropriate relationships with multiple women and having illegitimate children. Multiple departments are conducting a joint investigation, with further updates to be released as they become available. Shi Yongxin, known as a "CEO monk," has managed commercial operations including kung fu shows and merchandise since becoming abbot in 1999.
