An off-duty bouncer in Arklow, Ireland, Paul Lee, was violently attacked by Mateusz Gorecki and another man on Christmas Eve, 2019. Gorecki, who had been barred from a hotel by Lee, was sentenced to three years for the assault, which caused Lee serious facial injuries, forcing him into early retirement. Lee's life has been drastically altered due to chronic health issues including seizures and PTSD.
