South Africa forms a committee to investigate police corruption and interference allegations.
South Africa's National Assembly has agreed to form an ad hoc committee to investigate allegations of corruption and interference within the police force made by KwaZulu-Natal police chief Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
The committee, expected to conclude within 90 days, will look into the unlawful disbanding of task teams, removal of dockets, and irregular appointments.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has also announced a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the matter.
