Body of missing Viterbo student Eliotte Heinz found in Mississippi River; cause of death pending.

The body of 22-year-old Eliotte Heinz, a Viterbo University graduate student, was found in the Mississippi River near Brownsville, Minnesota, on July 23, 2025, about 12 miles from La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she was last seen on July 20. Heinz disappeared after leaving a bar in La Crosse. The La Crosse Police Department is investigating, awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death. The community rallied to help in the search efforts.
