The United Nations reported that over 1,054 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces while seeking food aid in Gaza since late May. This occurred following the establishment of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a U.S.- and Israel-backed initiative, due to Israel's halt on food supplies to Gaza. UN human rights office reports indicate that 766 were killed near GHF sites and 288 near UN and other aid convoy locations. The crisis has led to severe malnutrition, with over one million children in Gaza facing hunger.
