House allocates more funds for lawmakers' security amid rising threats and recent attacks.
The US House of Representatives is increasing security funding for its members in response to heightened safety concerns, including a recent attack on Minnesota state lawmakers.
Each member will now receive $20,000 for home security upgrades, up from $10,000, and $5,000 a month for personal security until September 30.
This pilot program comes amid an 83% increase in threats against lawmakers from 2022 compared to the previous year.
