Charges dropped against ex-Finance Minister and others in Ghana's uniBank collapse case.

The Attorney General of Ghana has withdrawn charges against former Finance Minister Dr. Kwabena Duffuor and seven others involved in the collapse of uniBank, after significant recovery of state funds. This decision, announced on July 22, follows a financial sector clean-up initiated in 2018. Meanwhile, former MP Collins Owusu Amankwah accused the government of selective arrest and detention, targeting members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The NPP's national conference highlighted the growing support for former Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia as the frontrunner for the 2028 presidential election.
