Israeli soldier killed, two injured in Gaza blast; IDF investigates shortages, accidents.
Israeli reservist Sgt. Maj. Vladimir Loza, 36, was killed when an explosive device detonated while he and his unit were searching a suspicious building in Rafah, southern Gaza. Two other soldiers were lightly injured. This incident follows the death of Staff Sgt. Amit Cohen, 19, in a similar explosion in Khan Yunis. The IDF is investigating both incidents, which were likely operational accidents. The IDF has also admitted to a manpower shortfall of about 7,500 soldiers, including a severe shortage of officers.
