Yuriana Julia Pelaez Calderon, a 41-year-old undocumented Mexican woman in Los Angeles, has been charged with conspiracy and lying to federal officers for staging a fake kidnapping by ICE agents. She and her daughter created a GoFundMe page to raise funds, claiming she was abducted by masked men. Federal investigators found her at a shopping mall, and video footage showed she left the scene calmly. Calderon faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
