Global views of China improve, narrowing the perception gap with the U.S. on international leadership.
A recent Pew Research Center survey shows global views of China and President Xi Jinping have improved in many countries, while views of the U.S. and President Donald Trump have declined.
This shift in perception brings international views of the two superpowers closer than at any point since 2020.
In the survey covering 24 countries, China is viewed more favorably in seven countries, the U.S. in eight, and both are viewed equally in the rest.
The changes suggest that as trust in U.S. leadership wavers, China appears more positively in some eyes.
