Elon Musk won't merge Tesla with his AI startup xAI, but may let shareholders vote on investing in it.

Elon Musk has stated that he does not support a merger between Tesla and his AI company xAI, which owns the Grok chatbot. However, Musk said Tesla will hold a shareholder vote on whether to invest in xAI, the AI company that has faced criticism for antisemitic comments from its chatbot. Musk merged xAI with social media platform X earlier this year, valuing xAI at $80 billion. SpaceX is also reported to have invested $2 billion in xAI.
