Two French women, aged 19 and 20, were arrested at Brisbane International Airport with 32 bricks of white powder, suspected to be methamphetamine, valued at $29 million. Australian Border Force officers found the drugs in their luggage based on intelligence suggesting links to previous drug trafficking cases. Charged with importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled substance, they face up to life in prison and are due in court on September 5.
