The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in India conducted raids in Haryana as part of an investigation into the 'Donkey Route' case, involving the illegal deportation of individuals from the U.S. The raids targeted travel agents accused of cheating people seeking to migrate legally, instead sending them through dangerous, unauthorized routes. The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) investigation was based on 17 FIRs and revealed agents charged exorbitant fees, up to Rs 50 lakh per person, for illegal crossings involving organized crime networks.
