The UK faces a significantly increased physical threat from Iran since 2022, comparable to Russia's threat, with at least 15 attempts at murder or kidnapping against British nationals or residents between 2022 and 2023. Iran's nuclear threat has also grown since the US withdrew from a key agreement in 2018. The Intelligence and Security Committee recommends considering proscribing Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group and enhancing UK cybersecurity.
