Chinese scientists have unveiled significant details about the moon's far side using samples collected by the Chang'e-6 mission. The study, published in Nature, reveals volcanic activity occurred 4.2 billion and 2.8 billion years ago, with a notable difference in water content between the near and far sides. The South Pole-Aitken Basin, where the samples were gathered, also showed ancient magnetic field fluctuations, offering insights into the moon's evolutionary history and the differences between its sides.
