Indian authorities raid 11 sites to investigate a fraudulent U.S. immigration scheme dubbed the "Donkey Route."

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at 11 locations in Punjab and Haryana to investigate an illegal immigration scheme known as the "Donkey Route." The case involves travel agents and middlemen who defrauded individuals by promising legal passage to the U.S. for about Rs 45-50 lakhs each, but instead sent them through dangerous, illegal routes controlled by human trafficking networks. The ED is examining money laundering aspects based on 17 FIRs and has gathered statements from deportees to identify those involved.
