Wrong-way crash on Florida Turnpike near Coconut Creek kills 19-year-old, injures passenger.

A fatal wrong-way crash occurred on the Florida Turnpike near Coconut Creek on Monday morning around 4:30 a.m. A 19-year-old driving a Mercedes northbound was hit head-on by an unknown driver of an Acura traveling southbound in the wrong direction. A 22-year-old passenger from Key West was hospitalized. All northbound lanes were closed until 10 a.m. for investigation and cleanup. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
