Public inquiry begins into 2021 Southport murders, probing prevention of attack on three girls.

The public inquiry into the 2021 murders of three girls in Southport during a dance class begins today. Led by Sir Adrian Fulford, the inquiry will examine if the attack by Axel Rudakubana, sentenced to 52 years, could have been prevented. It will investigate Rudakubana's history, interactions with agencies, and the response to his known risks. Evidence will come from 15 organizations including MI5 and Merseyside Police. The inquiry aims to prevent similar incidents.
