A woman in her 50s was severely bitten on the arm by a lion at Darling Downs Zoo in Australia while observing keepers work in the carnivore precinct. The victim, a regular visitor familiar with safety protocols, was taken to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital in stable condition. The lion did not leave its enclosure, and the zoo closed for the day. Police and Workplace Health and Safety officials are investigating the incident.
