UK may ban Palestine Action under terrorism laws if deemed involved in terrorist activities.
The UK government plans to ban Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act 2000 if the Home Secretary deems it involved in terrorism and that proscription is proportionate. Proscription, or banning, makes it illegal to join or support the organization. The Act defines terrorism as actions like violence or property damage aimed at influencing the government or intimidating the public. Currently, 81 international terrorist groups and 14 Northern Ireland organizations are proscribed. Proscription forbids joining, supporting, or expressing opinions in favor of the group. Deproscription can be considered upon application.
