Seventy young artists aged 5 to 18 have been recognized as finalists in Australia's Young Archie competition, a youth version of the Archibald Prize.
Winners, ranging from Jasmine Rose Lancaster Merton, who won the 16-18 category with a self-portrait, to six-year-old Logan Zhang, who depicted his dad, were announced at the Art Gallery of NSW.
Portraits mainly featured family, friends, teachers, and coaches, with fathers as the most common subject.
