Thunderstorms and heavy rain are causing flooding threats in the UK following the year's hottest day, which saw temperatures reach 29.4°C in Suffolk. A yellow thunderstorm warning is in place for the South West, North East, North of England, Wales, and Scotland, with up to 80mm of rain expected in some areas. The severe weather has led to road flooding, difficult driving conditions, power cuts, and potential home and business flooding.
