A federal appeals court denies President Trump's request to reconsider a $5 million judgment against him for battery and defamation of writer E. Jean Carroll. The court upheld a jury's 2023 verdict that found Trump liable for sexually abusing Carroll in the 1990s and defaming her. Trump is appealing a separate $83 million defamation award to Carroll, now with his last resort being the Supreme Court.
