Boeing shares fell by up to 8% in pre-market trading after one of its 787 Dreamliner aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport in India. The flight, bound for Gatwick, carried 242 people, including 53 British nationals. This marks the first crash involving a Boeing 787 aircraft. The model was previously grounded in 2013 due to battery fires. Boeing has faced safety issues, including the grounding of the 737 Max fleet after crashes in 2018 and 2019.
