Toyota and Daimler Truck to merge their Japanese truck units into a new Tokyo-listed company in 2026.
Toyota and Daimler Truck have finalized plans to merge their Japanese truck subsidiaries, Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso, into a new holding company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Each company will own 25% of the new entity, which aims to enhance vehicle development and production while focusing on ecological innovation, including hydrogen energy.
The merger, initially announced two years ago, is set to start operations in April 2026 and will employ over 40,000 workers.
