Tyler Alexander, a left-handed pitcher, signed a one-year deal with the Chicago White Sox after being designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers. In his debut, Alexander pitched three innings, allowing one run. To make room for him, the White Sox placed Jared Shuster on the injured list due to a blister and transferred Fraser Ellard to the 60-day injured list. Alexander is expected to fill a relief role.
