On the 81st anniversary of D-Day, U.S. Army Pvt. James Lee Harrington, who died during the Normandy invasion in 1944, was laid to rest in Cincinnati, Iowa. Harrington's remains were found in 1946 but were unidentified until 2023. His burial in his hometown was attended by over 90 people, with Governor Kim Reynolds declaring the day as Private James L. Harrington Day in his honor.
