After 80 years, the U.S. Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency identified the remains of 2nd Lt. Milton L. Hymes, Jr., a World War II navigator from Georgia, whose B-24J bomber crashed in the Baltic Sea in 1944.
Advanced scientific methods, including DNA analysis, led to the identification.
Hymes will be buried in Thunderbolt, Georgia, and a rosette will be placed next to his name on the Wall of the Missing at Cambridge American Cemetery in England.
