Potential new owner Justin Ishbia agrees to invest in Chicago White Sox, aiming to buy the team in the next decade.
Jerry Reinsdorf, owner of the Chicago White Sox, has reached an agreement with billionaire Justin Ishbia that could lead to Ishbia buying a controlling interest in the team between 2029 and 2033, or after the 2034 season. As part of the deal, Ishbia will make capital infusions in 2025 and 2026 to help pay down debt and support the team. Reinsdorf, who has owned the team since 1981, will continue as the primary decision-maker until a sale occurs.
