On June 4, the Gracemere cattle sale in Queensland saw strong competition despite a rain delay, with over 4,400 cattle sold. Weaner steers and heifers were particularly sought after, with prices reaching up to 510c/kg for weaner steers and 356c/kg for feeder heifers. In the prime sale, steers and heifers averaged around 294c/kg, while cows and calves averaged $786. Elsewhere, lighter cattle performed well at the Leongatha store sale, with Angus steers selling at up to 456c/kg, while Wodonga's market saw a divergence in pricing, favoring heavier steers over lighter types.
